See prints from the VC ‘08 Photo Contest Winners and find out how to participate in the 2009 Photography Contest, learn how to promote The Center for Hearing and Speech fourth annual fall fundraiser, listen to good music and enjoy good drinks. SATURDAY
- 9:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. — Houston Counts Census Training. Learn all about the 2010 Census and why it's important you participate. Help show Houston's diversity by participating in the Census, which helps determine what kind of funding and government support gets filtered back into our community. Learn about special initiatives happening in Houston and how you can get involved in the national effort. Hear the key messages and outreach strategies organizations across the country are using to encourage census participation among the hardest-to-count communities. Free, at Texas Southern University's Streling Student Life Center, 3100 Cleburne Street.
- 6-11 p.m. — Uncle Charlie Poster Show at Sig's Lagoon, 3710 Main. Uncle Charlie has been designing concert posters for Houston-area shows longer than you've been cool. Free.
